As we discussed in our last article, we can take green energy, homesteading and permaculture down the path of 1.) orienting our target homestead to that of a very back-woods, rustic homesteading experience (as in the picture above), or 2.) directing our efforts in a much less rustic environment such as outside a city in an area that allows you to grow some crops and possibly even to have a small flock of chickens.
Another aspect, is the use of shipping containers and large agriculturally-oriented structures, for growing produce. But, I digress.
Both homesteading paths (back-woods and peri-suburban have some strong home-building parallels. I use these facets as planning and strategy mobilizers. For instance, if we compare our search for a homesteading target parcel with that of setting up a deep woods camp location… we can get our homesteading and permaculture ideas flowing and assessed.
