Intro to Track #1; The World of Herbal
Exploring the Herbal Landscape of COI's and COP's
Our educational Track #1; Living an Herbal Lifestyle with You! covers a number of herbal “movers & shakers” who have inspired me in my historic farm, herbal plant propagation and herbal apothecary and wellness gift products. I will cover some basics such as the historic phrase “Simples & Worts” and who created it. I will also give you some great recipes, trip ideas such as the top living history farms and agricultural museums to visit, and how to make herbal gifts through herbal crafting practices. But, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I will take you into a deeper understanding of what it means to “scratch your herbal itch” by planning, designing, implementing and managing your custom-tailored herbal lifestyle.
The meat of this educational channel lies in a variety of communities. I will lead discussions across a rather vast landscape of Communities of Interest (COI’s) and Communities of Practice (COP’s). No matter whether you’re a Newbie or a Master Practitioner… we think you’ll like the mix of topics which we have experienced in our own herbal life journeys and want to share with you.
Some of the standout topics parallel my own interests such as herbal lore and traditions, how medicinal practices of indigenous cultures met those of the English, Chinese and many other bodies of herbal knowledge from other geographies.
In our Free self-paced course you will have a chance to look at core herbal COI’s initially. You will develop your own tailored herbal life-style journey roadmap. But, to give you a quick peek, here’s what I suggest. Draw a 5 pointed star on a piece of paper and assign each of the star’s points to your top herbal COI priorities. For me, personally, I have these nailed down as my 5 top priorities:
Living history and herbal lore
Herbal plant propagation
Cooking with herbs
Colonial-inspired herb gardens
Herbal Crafts and Gift-making
In a follow-on task, you will take your herbal COI priorities and explore the top cohorts and communities which we use the start diagram to write down specific pointers. For instance, if you’re interested in herbal lore and have a penchant for the theater and theatrical productions, then we will introduce you to the top community of living history professionals. In addition, we will point you to our other Free educational channel. That is Track #5; The Lost Arts Compendium which takes you further down the herbal history and practices dimensions!
The current list of herbal topics is one of our 5 free rewards so make sure to register and get your copy of what is entitled, “The Herbal Sherpa’s Reference Listing and Program Guide”. It’s a “cheat sheet” which we will be using in Tracks #1 and #2.
I look forward to interacting with you on the inside!
